The impact of corrosive environments on parked aircraft

SATAVIA tracks and quantifies corrosive environments to which parked aircraft are exposed at global airport locations. The number of aircraft parked for over 30 days at locations globally has rapidly increased over the past week, leading to corrosion and asset deterioration. In the animation below, aircraft fleets that have been parked for a minimum of 7 days on ground are shown in blue.

Aircraft fleets that have been parked for more than 30 days are shown in red (representing >90% of parked fleet at an airport), highlighting airports that have been dedicated to long-term aircraft storage. This means more maintenance work required to bring the aircraft back into service.
